Meconium Staining of Amniotic Fluid During Labour

Meconium is your baby’s first stool. It is green in colour. If the baby passes this meconium stool before birth, it may lead to complications. If meconium is found in the amniotic fluid that leaks after your waters have broken (membranes have ruptured) then it can be of concern and your gynaecologist should be informed immediately.
